She is survived by her devoted husband, Salvatore, and their loving children: Samantha (Andrew), Shelby (Stefano), and Joseph (Cassandra). Laurie was a proud and doting grandmother, finding endless joy in her grandchildren, Hunter and Haylee. Her family was the center of her world, and she poured her heart into every moment spent with them. She had a rare and beautiful way of making everyone feel deeply loved, supported, and valued. Laurie cherished her family and friends fiercely, creating a warm, welcoming space wherever she went—a home filled with laughter, comfort, and unwavering love.
Laurie shared a close bond with her family, was the beloved daughter of late Dominick Barzelatto and is survived by her mother Linda Mattes, stepfather John Mattes, her brothers Richard and Craig Barzelatto, and her sister Jaclyn Mattes. Their connection was rooted in love, loyalty, and shared memories -reflecting the strong family values Laurie carried throughout her life.
Laurie worked alongside her husband and son at Meadowbrook Contracting & Inc., where she proudly served as the office manager. Her dedication, organization, and warm personality helped shape the foundation of the business. She took pride in supporting the family’s work and found great fulfillment in being part of something they built together.
Laurie was the heart of every gathering — the life of the party, the host who made every holiday and birthday feel magical. Her talent for decorating and her gift for making people feel seen and special left an unforgettable mark on all who entered her home and her life.
She found peace and happiness in life’s simple pleasures—snuggling with her puppies Norabelle and Roxie, spending time in her garden, soaking in the beauty of her flowers, enjoying sunny days outside, and being by the ocean especially in Rhode Island, one of her favorite places. She loved going out to eat and sharing meals with her husband and family, savoring both the food and the time spent together.
She will be remembered not only for her strength and unwavering love, but also for the joy, laughter, and beauty she brought into the world.
