
Larry Ryan, age 76, of Bethel passed away at his home on Sunday November 15th surrounded by his loving family after a brave fight. Larry was born in Danbury, CT on March 16, 1939 to the late Lawrence and Ann Ryan.
He was a graduate of Henry Abbott Technical High School and worked as an operating engineer for many years. He then started a career with the Town of Bethel working his way from Highway Foreman to Assistant Public Works Director.
Larry was a member and elder of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Over the years, Larry was involved in several local organizations including the Grassy Plain Drum Corps, Danbury Drum Corps, and Bethel Volunteer Fire Dept, he was also an EMT. Larry was also an amateur Ham radio operator and an avid NASCAR fan in his later years.
Larry is survived by Evelyn, his high school sweetheart and loving, devoted wife of 57 years. He is also survived by his children Larry and his wife Deanne, Tracy and her husband Peter, and Ed and his wife Debbie. He leaves behind the pride and joy of his life his grandchildren Nick, Lindsay, Travis, Mitch, Mike and Brett. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Marlene and Joe Nash.
A private funeral service and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St. Danbury will be in charge of arrangements.
