Lina was born February 9, 1927, in Pratola Peligna, Italy, the daughter of the late Antonio and Liberata (D’Alessandro) Petrella. She emigrated to the United States with her mother and brother Ercole, to be reunited with her father, settling in Danbury in 1936.
In 1949, she met and married the love of her life Pete Setaro. Together, they raised two children, Rosemary and Joe, and created a loving and happy home for their family. Lina was a longtime parishioner of Saint Gregory the Great Church, Danbury.
Lina is survived by her children: Rosemary Martino and her husband Ross of Danbury, and Joseph Setaro and his wife Marlene of Danbury, one brother: Mario Petrella and his wife Barbara of Palm Coast, FL, three grandchildren: Jennifer, Jamie, and Ross, and several nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved. She was predeceased by her brother Ercole “Ed” Petrella.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Friday, March 23, at Saint Gregory the Great Church, Danbury. Burial will be in Saint Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
The family will receive friends on Friday morning at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street Danbury, from 9:30am until 10:30am.
