

Born on March 29, 1930 in Danbury CT, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Mary Wayman. Loretta attended Sacred Heart School and was a 1947 graduate of Danbury High School. She received her LPN degree from Abbott Regional School and worked at several local businesses, retiring from Danbury Orthopedics. She was raised with a strong sense of values and a heart full of love. She spent her life nurturing her family, friends, and community, always putting others before herself.
Her devoted husband, Stanley, predeceased her.
Survivors include her son, James and his wife, Barbara, grandson, Dr Zachary Kunicki and his wife, Dr Justine Egan-Kunicki, granddaughter, Audrey Kunicki-Shaw and her husband Tim; her daughter, Elizabeth Kunicki and her husband, Leonel Luis, grandson Steve Bumbala V and his wife, Laura, great grandsons, Steven and Aiden, grandson, Joshua Bumbala and his wife, Colleen. Also surviving is her sister, Irene; and many nieces, nephews and grandpuppies and grandkitties and our horse Justin.
Her children and grandchildren were the joy of her life, and she took great pride in watching them grow and thrive.
Throughout her life, Loretta was an active member of Sacred Heart Church, where she volunteered, participated in various activities, and made a lasting impact on those around her.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Regional Hospice of Danbury, The Cascades, and the medical team and caregivers who provided exceptional care and support during her final days.
Rest in peace, Loretta. Your love, kindness, Christmas Eve dinners and generosity will never be forgotten.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Monday, March, 9 2026 at Sacred Heart Church, Cottage St., Danbury with the Rev. David Klein officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury, CT.
