Manny was born in Danbury, a son of Maria Furtado and the late Manuel Furtado, Sr. He attended Danbury School. Manny was an equipment operator with Furtado Construction and various companies in Danbury. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Danbury.
Besides his mother, survivors include his brothers: Louis Furtado and Jose Furtado. His sisters: Elizabeth Furtado and Sandra Lariviere, as well as his niece, Jessica and nephew, Jake. He will be greatly missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 149 Deer Hill Ave., Danbury with the Rev. Jose Brito Martins, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 5pm-8pm at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.
