Manuel Ferreira Valente

Manuel was born September 25, 1926 in Ovar, Portugal the son of the late Jose Maria Valente and Maria DaEncarnacao Rodrigues Almeida. He married his wife Maria Emilia on November 10, 1946.

Manuel came to the United States in May 1966, and had lived in Westchester County, NY where he worked as a road construction laborer. He had been a resident of Danbury for the last nine years. Over the last few years, Manuel attended the “Almost Home” adult day care facility where he loved singing one of his favorite songs, “God Bless America”.

In addition to his wife Maria, Manuel will be missed by his five children: Maria Valente-Salvador and her husband Joe, Maria Jose V. Henriques and her husband Manuel, Frank Valente and his wife Rosa, Cristina V. Galeano and her husband Fredi, and Catarina Valente. In addition, Manuel is survived by ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews in both New Jersey and New York.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Friday November 22nd in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Danbury. Burial will be in Saint Peter Cemetery, Danbury.

The family will receive friends at the Green Funeral Home 57 Main Street Danbury on Thursday November 21st from 5 thru 8 pm.
