Marilyn Eleanor Bertilson

Mrs. Bertilson was born June 28, 1941 at home in Danbury, CT, a daughter of the late Ernest and Alfreda (Giddings) Schultz. She graduated from Danbury High School Class of ’59 and attended classes at Western Connecticut State University. A Brookfield resident for 44 years, Mrs. Bertilson worked for United Water for 25 years, retiring in 2003. She was secretary for Cub Scouts Pack 8 and Den Mother for Den 5, Coach for the Indians in BBA Baseball and an advisor for the Senior High Fellowship at the First Congregational Church of Brookfield. As an avid knitter and crocheter, she made numerous items donated to churches. She especially loved spending time with her granddaughters, enjoying watching them grow up.

Mrs. Bertilson was predeceased by her son, Brian, in 1990 as well as her brother, Alfred and sisters Frances Anderson and Olive Morey.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her son, Dean. Her siblings: Laura Hanford and Richard Schultz. Her granddaughters: Ashley and Jamie.

A Graveside Service will be conducted Monday at 12:15pm at Central Cemetery, Brookfield. There are no calling hours.
