

Mark Allen Spencer Sr, (Pop) 59, of Danbury Connecticut, beloved husband and best friend of Shirley (Conklin) Spencer for 38 years, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at Westchester Medical Center on Wednesday, June 5, 2013. He was surrounded by the ones he laughed with, lived for, and loved. Mark was born in Danbury, son of the late Alton and Ruth (Ely) Spencer. He was a graduate from Henry Abbott Technical School and worked as a tool maker for PMC Company of Danbury, Ct. He often called PMC his home away from home. In addition to his wife, Shirley, he is survived by his sister, Gail N. Spencer and brother, James H. Spencer, and sister-in-law Leni Spencer. He is also survived by his three children, Gail M. Velez, son-in-law Raymond Velez, Mark A. Spencer Jr and Heather Spencer as well as his grandchildren, Lyric Spencer, Jonathan Spencer and Hayley Queiroz. He also left behind his companion and sidekick, his cat, Purl Mark was always happiest when he spent time traveling with his wife and loved watching his grandchildren grow up. Mark was a jack-of-all-trades and was there at a moment’s notice if anyone ever needed help. He was known by everyone for his quick-wit, sense of humor and stubbornness. He loved being around his family, spending time special with his wife, riding his motorcycle with his son and grandson, and showing his daughters and grandkids just how smart he really was. He had a passion for life and was always a family man first. Funeral Services will be held at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St, Danbury CT on Monday afternoon at 3pm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 00 – 3 00pm Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery.
