Mary was born in Danbury, daughter of the late James and Mary (Lynch) Durkin. She was a 1940 graduate of Danbury High School and 1944 graduate of Trinity College. She was a lifetime resident of Danbury and St. Peter Church.
She is survived by her sons, David M. McGetrick of New York City and James M. “Jay” McGetrick and wife Linda of Mt. Kisco, four grandchildren: Mary Kate, Maggie, James and Erin and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her brothers: Robert, Charles and James Durkin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter Church, on Friday morning at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. Friends may call at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, on Friday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.
