Melissa A. Connelly

Melissa A. (Wirtig) Connelly, 52, of New Haven, CT, formerly of Danbury, CT passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. Melissa (Missy) courageously battled Lupus and passed away peacefully in her sleep at Yale-New Haven Hospital. She was the daughter of Robert A. Wirtig of Danbury.

Melissa was predeceased by her daughter, Christine Elizabeth Connelly; her husband, James Connelly, Jr.; her mother, Raffaela (Parrella) Wirtig; and her brother, Robert J. Wirtig and her loyal German Shepard companion, Maggie.

She was born Bridgeport, CT on September 18, 1972. Melissa graduated from Western Connecticut State University with a Bachelor’s Degree. She worked for many years at Cartus in Danbury and the last ten years at RTX. Melissa’s greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.

Besides her father, Melissa is survived by many loving cousins and friends.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 3:00pm on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, CT with the Rev. Matthew Loman, Associate Pastor of St. Gregory the Great Church in Danbury, officiating.
