Michael was born on July 18, 1940 in New York City to the late Salvatore and Grace Field St. George. He grew up in the Ossining, NY area, graduating from Ossining High School in 1958. He attended the University of Alabama for two years and then returned to Ossining to enlist in the NY National Guard serving from 1961-1965.
Michael began his successful real estate business of 42 years, Michael St. George Realty, in Yorktown Heights, NY. He saw Yorktown grow as many families were moving from the boroughs of New York to “The Country”.
Michael married the late Kathleen Morris and had two sons, Michael John (Corey) St. George (Overland Park, KS) and Kenneth Scott St. George (Mohegan Lake, NY). Michael’s priority was always his family.
In mid-life, Michael met Susan O’Brien of Danbury, CT. They married and had 20 wonderful years traveling throughout Europe and the U.S. They enjoyed spending their summers on Cape Cod and boating on Candlewood Lake.
These last eight years, the debilitating disease of Parkinson’s took over. Susan lovingly cared for Michael at home before moving to Hancock Hall in Danbury in 2021.
Besides his wife and sons, Michael and Kenneth, he leaves his beloved sister, Sally Parker (Allen Pinto). They shared a very special bond throughout the years. Michael also leaves behind his seven grandchildren: Everleigh St. George of Overland Park, KS; Gus, Iris and Delia O’Brien of Chapel Hill, NC and Brienna, Ryan and Julia Kalinowski of Cheshire, CT.
Also surviving are his two stepchildren: Mark (Lauren) O’Brien of Chapel Hill, NC and Lynn (Bill) Kalinowski of Cheshire, CT. He will be greatly missed by his niece, Sally Ann (David) Nichols and great-nephews, Alexander and Theodore Nichols of Rye, NY; and his nephew, Chuck Parker of Anchorage, Alaska as well as great nephew, Dillon Parker of Danbury, CT.
The family would like to thank the caring staff of Hancock Hall, especially Isabelle and Maureen as well as the other attentive staff.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 21 Brush Hill Rd., New Fairfield, with the Rev. Kenneth R. Letoile, O.P., officiating.
