Myrtle Brosz was born on April 3, 1918 in Danbury CT and was one of 6 children born to the late James H. and Ethel Bailey, also life long residents of Danbury. Myrtle was the eldest and leaves a close sister Mrs. Lucille Lewis of Danbury. She is pre-deceased by 4 brothers, Carl, Donald, Gene, and James Bailey. Both Myrtle and her sister lived at the Kimberly Apartments in Danbury and were regularly known amongst their neighbors for their constant companionship and her continuous out-pouring of generosity and concern for others. Myrtle was a member of the Central Christian Church of Danbury.
Mrs. Brosz attended local public schools and graduated from Danbury High School in 1936. After graduation, she worked at the Baird-Untiedt Hat Co. and Ryder Diary. It was at the Baird-Untiedt Hat Co that she met her future husband Mr. Walter Brosz. A traditional courtship followed and they were wed on Oct. 18, 1941 at the Central Christian Church. A honeymoon to the Catskill Mountains in New York was shortened due to Walter being called to duty in WWII. A lengthy separation occurred during the war years and upon his return of active service in the South Pacific they started their life together in Danbury.
She returned to the business world in the late 1960’s and for several years was employed at National Semiconductor Corporation in Berkshire Industrial Park. Here she trained as a transistor tester plus enjoyed the camaraderie of her co-workers and sisters-in-law, Helene Daily, Rita Waldeck, and Loretta Kellner.
Myrtle enjoyed various activities during her life and had a much admired adventurous spirit. She and Walter traveled extensively to be with their grandchildren. She also enjoyed flowers, needlepoint, and crafts. In her early years she was actively involved in a weekly sewing club. At the Danbury Senior Center she participated in the ceramics class with her brothers and sisters for many years.
