

Long time Danbury resident and retiree to the Villages, FL and Heritage Village, Southbury, CT Paul Thompson Hart, 77 passed away unexpectedly on Monday on June 14, 2021. Devoted husband of Paulette (Levesque) Hart, loving father of Meghan Hart(Craig), Eamon Hart (Elizabeth), Bridget Hart (Michael), Caitlin Blessey (Ryan) and Elizabeth Santiago (Luis).
Paul was born in Bristol, CT on September 29, 1943 to the late Willis and Elizabeth Hart where he attended Bristol Eastern HS. In 1965 he earned a BA in Political Science from The College of the Holy Cross which served him well in careers spanning the newspaper industry, teaching at Immaculate HS (’70-’80) and in the paper and plastics industry at American Can, James River and First Brands. Ending his career as President of HIDC.
Paul’s love of learning started from an early age and continued throughout his life including a passion for crossword puzzles. Golfing at Ridgewood Country Club or playing Pickle ball fed his competitive spirit.
He was a long time congregant of St Peter R.C.C. in Danbury where he served as a lector, a vocation he continued after retirement at St Vincent DePaul (Wildwood, FL) and Sacred Heart in Southbury.
Besides his wife of 49 years and his children, Paul is survived by sisters: Sandra Milke (Dick) and Mary Foyt (Frank). Time spent with his grandchildren: Jayden, Max, Scarlett, Wilhelmina, Reagan, Birdie and Carsyn brought him immense joy and pride.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00pm on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at St. Peter Church, Danbury, CT. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
Friends will be received from 4pm – 7pm on Monday, June 21, 2021at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.
