

Peter was born in New York to Lucia and Peter DiScala on March 10th, 1942. He graduated from high school in 1959 and then proudly served in the US Army until 1967. After his service, he began his career with Pathmark supermarkets where he first worked as a butcher and ultimately became the Director of Store Operations for Connecticut and New York. In 1981, he and his wife Beverly purchased a small store in Brookfield, called the Craft Basket. They worked there together for the next 25 years, growing it into a 20,000 square foot store with over 50 employees.
In his retirement, he enjoyed working with his son Peter and managing the office for Sunburst Landscaping. He also enjoyed cooking for his family, spending time with his dog Sam, and watching the UCONN Women’s basketball games.
Peter is survived by his son Michael; his son Peter and his girlfriend Christina Buonocore; his daughter Susan Ollayos and her husband Bruce; his grandchildren William and Sarah Ollayos; his ex-wife Beverly DiScala; and his siblings Michael DiScala, George DiScala, and Nicolette Milite. Peter was predeceased by his parents, Lucia and Peter, and by his sister Jean Baselice.
Friends and family will be received from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 23rd at St. Joseph Church, Brookfield. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
