

Richard E. Connor, 83, of Southbury, CT and loving husband of the late Anne (Scott) Connor died Sunday, Dec. 18th at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury. Richard was born on June 1, 1928 in Grenola, KS, a son of the late Myron and Marie Munsey Connor. A World War II veteran, he served with the US Navy and was a recipient of the Victory and the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medals. Richard was an active gardener of vegetables and flowers. He enjoyed spending time with his grandsons and was also a big fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. Richard will be missed by all who knew him.
Richard is survived by his daughter: Kathleen List of Waterbury. His son: Mitchell Connor and his wife, Michele, of Brookfield. His sister: Mary Belle Verbeck of San Diego, CA. Two grandsons: Christopher and Matthew Connor. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Norma Beechner and his brother, John Connor.
Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday evening at 7:30pm at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, with the Rev. Gregg Mecca, Pastor of St. Peter Church, Danbury, officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5pm until the time of the service.
