He was born, July 21st, 1947 in York, Maine. Bob was the son of Doris Guy and the late Robert D. Guy. He was a graduate of Lewis S. Mills High School, Burlington, CT class of 1965. He also attended Springfield College and Western Connecticut State University.
Bob's entrepreneurial and philanthropic nature began with his countless summers at The Oceanside family store of York Beach Maine. Bob proudly served as a First Lieutenant in the United States Army during the Vietnam War where he earned two Bronze Stars, one for heroism and a second for meritorious service. Bob was employed in the magazine and newspaper distribution industry for over 30 years as the operations manager with Yankee News. Serving his community through volunteer work was of significant importance to Bob.
He thoroughly enjoyed any and all sports. He coached soccer for many years in New Milford and was a boxing judge and time keeper for the Libra Athletic Association. Bob also volunteered as a driver and Medical Response Technician for the Heritage Village Ambulance Association.
In addition to his cherished wife of 42 years, Sally, he will be sadly missed by his daughters Margo Guy and Molly Gill, and his son and best friend, Trenton Guy as well as his two adored grandsons Warren Guy Macko and Robert James Leaden. Bob is also survived by his sister Jaqueline Shadford of Burlington, CT, a nephew, two nieces and a great nephew.
We are deeply thankful for the 66 years that Bob Guy was here. What is sad is that he is gone, and the life he so enjoyed could not have gone on for a just a little longer.
