Robert "Bob" McNulty passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at the age of 88. Bob was born July 21, 1931 to the late Jerome and Marion McNulty. Bob is survived by his loving family: his sister, Ann Moffa and brother-in-law Joe, nieces Kelly Moffa Whalen (Tom), Sharon Minck, Leslie Minck Weber (Henry) and his nephew Gary Minck. He is also survived by his great nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly and was immensely proud: Kaitlin Whalen, Andrew Minck, Matthew Minck (Cathy), Scott Weber (Kara), and Christopher Weber, his Palardy cousins, and many cherished life-long friends. Bob was pre-deceased by his beloved family members, sister Jean McNulty Minck, brother-in-law George, Aunt Helen and Uncle Al Trenka, and many special relatives.
Bob graduated from St. Peter School and Danbury High School. He spent most of his afternoons playing basketball at the Danbury War Memorial. Bob was a gifted athlete who excelled at basketball, baseball, tennis and golf. He was an avid fisherman of local streams and lakes. A devoted Brooklyn Dodger fan, Bob spent many summer days at Ebbets Field, the Polo Grounds and Shea Stadium. In his later years, he enjoyed a round of golf with good friends and weekly tennis matches with his Danbury buddies. Bob was a quiet, gentle man with a mischievous sense of humor who enjoyed life in the background, imparting thoughtful advice and always lending a helping hand to family and friends. He had a passion for gardening and enjoyed spending time with his friends at Dom's Garden Center. Bob was a curious soul who read the spots off of the newspaper and in later years enjoyed exploring the internet on his Ipad. He spent the end of his life as a resident of the Palace View in Danbury and thoroughly enjoyed the company of his good neighbors.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Hancock Hall, Danbury Hospital, and Father Gregg Mecca of St. Peter Church.
