

Roderick was born in Stratford, Conn., son of the late Colin and Annie Mac Farquhar. He was a graduate of Roger Ludlow High School and had served proudly in the US Army during World War II and the Korean War. During his service career he received many citations and the Purple Heart for wounds received in action. He had worked for many years as a Distribution Manager for the Pepperidge Farms Company. After moving to Sherrills Ford, N.C., he has volunteered much of his time at the Military Museum and with the rebuilding of Richards Coffee Shop at the museum.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children: Roderick B. Mac Farquhar, Jr. and wife Ginette of Danbury, Darren Mac Farquhar and wife Rae of NC and Dawn Johnson and husband Glenn of NC, as well as his grandchildren: Jennifer Honeycutt and husband Steven, Jesse and Kimberly Mac Farquhar, his sisters, Marjorie Patterson of AL and Damaris Travers of FL and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, on Tuesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m., with a service to be held at 7:15 p.m. Interment will be private.
