

Rose was born in San Bernardo DeCollatura Catanzaro, Italy on September 24, 1920, daughter of the late Louis Gillotti and Mary Grace (Tomanio) Gillotti.
Rose immigrated to the United States when she was 4 years old and settled in Danbury with her family in 1924. She attended school in Danbury and later worked for Bernice’s dress shop in Bethel, CT. She was a talented seamstress who designed many of her own clothes, draperies and slipcovers. She met her husband, John, in Danbury and they were married in St. Joseph’s Church on May 1, 1948. Together with her husband she purchased and operated Martin Brothers Shoe Repair store until retiring in 1995. She loved spending time with her grandchildren as they were growing up and then later her great-grandchildren and family.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Maryanne Bachyrycz and her husband, Frank of Danbury; four grandchildren Frank Jr. and his wife, Christine of Middletown, N.Y., Rachel Gaulard and her husband Joe of Danbury, Dr. Amy Bachyrycz of Albuquerque, NM, and Dr. Brian Bachyrycz of Danbury; three great-grandchildren Abigail, Emma and Lilly Bachyrycz, and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition, she is also survived by her brothers Louis and Albert Gillotti of Danbury. Rose was predeceased by her sister Mary and brothers Frank, Fred and Nathan Gillotti.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 1st at 10am at St. Peter’s Church and entombment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery Mausoleum. Calling hours will be Wednesday, August 31st at Green’s Funeral Home 57 Main St., Danbury from 5pm-8pm.
