Rose J (Keilty) Coffey Sutter passed away on Sunday, September, 1, 2013 at Danbury Hospital. Rose Joan Keilty was born Dec. 4, 1920 in Watertown CT. She was the eleventh of seventeen children born to Frederick and Sarah (Bryan) Keilty. Rose was married to Edward Joseph Coffey from 1944 until his death in 1980. She was married to Royal Kenneth Sutter from 1986 until his death in 1999.
Nothing was more important to Rose than her faith and her family. She was very proud to have worked on the family genealogy which is in print and can be passed down through the family. Rose was happiest when cuddling a family baby in her arms. She was an avid reader for most of her life and was also quite a traveler.
Rose was a longtime member of St Joseph Parish in Danbury and very active in many of its organizations. She worked as an executive secretary for the Barden Corp for a number of years until her retirement. At that time she moved to Vermont in order to be closer to her beloved daughter Cathleen Coffey Dann and her family.
Rose’s heart was shattered by the death of her precious daughter in 2004. At that time she moved to California to be with her son. She returned to CT in 2006.
Rose is survived by her son Chris Coffey and his wife Michelle of Marina del Rey, CA and her son-in-law Curt Dann of VT. She also leaves her five loving and devoted grandchildren: Morgan and E. Christopher Coffey, Ashley, Adam and Liz Dann as well as several nieces and nephews.
