Sally grew up in Danbury, CT where she attended Danbury High School, Class of 1948. Sally worked for Bartlett Tree Company, Heli Coil, and most recently Danbury City Hall. Sally was an avid reader and always held on to the memories shared with her husband George in annual trips to Ogunquit, Maine that spanned 20 years.
Sally is predeceased by her husband George, and sons, Mark and Steven Schmiedel. Sally is also predeceased by her brother Henry McDermott.
Sally is survived by her daughter, Brenda Schmiedel Forrest of Oakville, CT, and grandsons, Christopher Forrest (Shaun Fera) of Charlotte, NC, Cameron Forrest of Oakville, CT, Greg (Kate) Schmiedel, grandaughter, Carolyn (Luis) Ortega, as well as grandson Daniel Schmiedel all of Rhode Island. Sally is also survived by a very special daughter-in-law, Anne (Katzenberger) Schmiedel of RI. In addition, Sally was blessed and survived by her great-grandchildren, Ben and Anna Ortega both of Rhode Island.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Sally will be held Monday, December 12, 2022, at 10:30 AM at St. Peter Church, 104 Main St., Danbury, CT. Following the Mass will be a burial (private) at Wooster Cemetery, 20 Ellsworth Ave., Danbury, CT. Friends and family are asked to meet directly at church.
