Steven T. Schmiedel

Steven was born on June 4, 1957 in Danbury, CT, a son of Sally L. Schmiedel and the late George F. Schmiedel. He attended St. Peter School in Danbury and was a 1975 graduate of Danbury High School. He graduated from Mt. St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Maryland in 1979 with a degree in political science.

Steven worked in the hotel hospitality industry for many years, most notably at Harbor Beach Marriott, and was also a barista at Stork’s Coffee Shop.

In addition to his mother, survivors include his sister, Brenda Forrest, and her children, Chris and Cameron Forrest of CT. He is also survived by his wonderful sister-in-law, Anne Katzenberger Schmiedel of Rhode Island, and her children, Gregory & wife Kate, Carolyn & husband Luis, and Daniel Schmiedel. He is also survived by a great-nephew, Benjamin, and a great-niece, Anna of Rhode Island. He was predeceased by his father, George and brother Mark. He leaves a host of many cousins and extended family who will miss him dearly. He had so many friends that loved him in Florida, and the family would like to extend a special thanks to David Pirola and Dave Schenk who helped him so much the past few years.

A Memorial Gathering will be held from 1pm-3pm on Saturday, Oct. 26th, 2019 at the Green Funeral Home. 57 Main St., Danbury.
