Born in Yonkers, NY, a son of the late Matthew T. and Helen C. (Flaherty) LeStrange, Tom spent his early childhood in Mason City and later Des Moines, Iowa. Returning to the Bronx, affectionately known by all as Y.A., he attended St. Brendan’s and Cardinal Spellman High School, graduating in 1968. Tom received his BA from Fordham University.
Tom had an entrepreneurial spirit and was a proprietor of both French Charlie’s in the Bronx and The Low Down in Mount Vernon. His passions included reading, the New York Jets, fitness, golf and spending time with his beloved wife Susan.
In addition to his wife Susan, Tom is survived by his siblings, Marianne Brady (Kevin) and Walter LeStrange (Danielle). He was the beloved uncle of Tiana Sloan, Chris LeStrange, Thomas Brady, Kimberley Legans, Matthew LeStrange, Anthony LeStrange, John LeStrange, Brandon and Matthew Bly as well as grand nieces and nephews. Tom was predeceased by a brother, Matthew M. LeStrange. Tom was a friend to many and always the funniest guy in the room. He will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of Tom's Life will be celebrated on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022 from 1pm-4pm at the Westchester Manor, 140 Saw Mill River Road, Hastings, New York.
