Vilma Flittner of New Fairfield, CT passed away peacefully on Tuesday June 27, 2023. Vilma was born in NYC on September 22, 1929, to Minna Stosch (Storat) and Alex Stosch. She was the loving wife of the late Frank Flittner, who often referred to her as “my bride”.
Vilma and Frank settled in Floral Park, NY to live and raise their two daughters, Nancie and Donna. Vilma worked in Inventory Control for Bloomingdale’s in Garden City, NY and as a purchasing agent at Unisys. They enjoyed 58 years in their home in Floral Park and had many great parties with their family, friends, and neighbors.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, nana, and great grandmother. She loved food (especially her infamous potato salad!), gardening, and enjoying many great times with Frank and her lifelong circle of friends, many of whom she will now be joining.
She is survived by her daughters Nancie Keegan; husband Robert, and Donna Flittner-Albertson; husband Timothy.
She is also survived by her granddaughters Meaghan Rizzo; husband Dave, and great grandson Jordan; Shannon Epifano; husband Anthony, Rachael Albertson, Kaitlin Albertson, and Colleen Armitage; husband Forrest and great grandsons Finley and Colter.
The viewing will held Saturday July 1, 2023 at Green Funeral Home 57 Main Street, Danbury from 2pm to 5pm.
