
Fulton, Charles Richard “Rich”, 88, Dartmouth, at Camp Hill Veterans Memorial Hospital passed away on Friday, July 23. He was the son of the late Captain Charles E. and Ethel Blanche (McCulloch) Fulton of Glenholme, Colchester County. Rich was educated in Glenholme, then Truro and Mount Allison Academy and was attending Mount Allison University when he joined the army and served overseas in the Signal Corps during World War II. In 1954 he joined the federal civil service where he worked in the ship repair unit at the Halifax Dockyard, retiring after 32 years. He enjoyed bowling and he was a member of the Dartmouth Curling Club for several years. He was a member of the Shriners and the Masonic Fidelity Lodge, where he served as Master in 1986. He was also a boy scout leader at his church, Grace United, in the 1950’s and 60’s. Some of his happiest memories were at his cottage in Pictou County with all the family. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty (Fraser) and children Jane (Stephen) Hart, Halifax, Brad (Jude Thornton), Yarmouth, Barbara (Paul Shilton), Stratford, Ontario, and Scott (Angela Deveaux), Halifax; and beloved grandchildren Nicholas (Adrianna) and Andrew Hart, Jessica and Alexa Fulton and Christopher Fulton, as well as his brother, John (Jean) in Truro. He was predeceased by his brother Arthur, Maine. There will be a visitation at A. L. Mattatalls Funeral Home on Portland St. in Dartmouth from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, July 26 and the funeral service will be at Mattatall’s at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 27. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff on V 6-E at Camp Hill for their support and kindness to Rich and our family over these last months.
