MacPhee, Doris Louise, It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, sister and friend while surrounded by her family on April 23, 2013. Louise fought her aggressive cancer with strength and dignity. Born in Halifax in 1946, she was a daughter of the late Gilbert Arthur and Eleanor Mavis Griffin (Parson). She was predeceased by her husband Peter Ross (the love of her life) January 25, 2010 and is heartbroken to leave the other man in her life, their only son William Ross MacPhee and his wife Heather. Louise leaves her eldest sister Sharon Byatt (Brian), Dartmouth; brother Jim Griffin (Lynn), Porters Lake; twin brothers Ian Gordon Parson (Barb), Brooks, Alberta; Eric Norman Parson, Oketokes, Alberta; and baby sister Diane Lynn Barton (Michael) Ottawa; and their families; sister in law Alice Mombourquette (Cliff), Stewiacke; many nieces , nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Louise was a life member of the Day Ladies Curling and Dartmouth Curling Club and a member of the Dartmouth and Wanderers Lawn Bowling Clubs. The family will receive visitors at A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home 217 Portland Dartmouth Friday May 3, 2013 4-7pm. Memorial service will be held 1pm Saturday May 4, in St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Rev. Dr. P.A. Sandy McDonald officiating. Louise loved flowers and they are greatly appreciated. I would like to thank everyone for all their love and support over the last few months, especially my best friend Shelagh Lindley who literally put her life on hold and came from BC to take the best care of me and my family. We’ve had the best of times when you would expect the worst of times. As per Louise’s wishes, her body has been cremated. There will be a grave side committal service at a later date in Pine Grove Cemetery, Stewiake. On line condolences may be viewed or sent to: www. mattatallfuneralhome.com
Goodbye my family, my life is past
I loved you all to the very last
Weep not for me, but courage take
Love each other, for my sake
For those you love don’t go away
They walk beside you every day
