Smith, Douglas Lawson, 67 of Dartmouth passed away Tuesday September 14, 2010 at home. Born in Spryfield, he was the son of the late Douglas and Carrie (Hartlen) Smith. He was a taxi driver for 10 years, drove for Acadian Lines for 7 years and also worked as a mover for many years. He loved playing with his grandson who called his granddad ‘Biggie’. He had a great love of history and astronomy. He will be missed so much. He was a soul mate, husband, father and grandfather, Know one could be blessed with more. Surviving are ,his wife Carrie Gladys (Page) , son Douglas Lawson Smith III, daughters Nena Marie Smith and Tina Mariea Smith, sisters, Alvina Mussolino, Roxie Chaddock, Veda Cooper and Roxie Gray., grandson Ali Moses Smith. A funeral service will be held 11am Friday September 17, 2010 in A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, followed by burial in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the local burn unit, Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
