

Eldon began his working life as a farmer before moving to Halifax where he worked for the Eaton’s Department Store for over 30 years.
Retirement found him engaged in forestry projects, particularly Christmas tree production. He received The Eastern Nova Scotia Woodlot Owner of the Year Award in 2000 and 2006.
He was proud of his Scottish ancestry and enjoyed researching family history as well as sharing time and stories with family members across generations.
Survived by his daughter Pam MacKinnon (Keith), Bedford and their children, Liam, (Amber), and Kyle, (Victoria), many nieces and nephews as well as grand nieces and nephews.
Eldon was predeceased by his beloved wife, Muriel, siblings, Henry, Alex, Viola, Charles, Stirling, Fred, Rita, Hazel, and Leroy, (in infancy).
Visitation will be held 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday June 8 at A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland Street, Dartmouth. A graveside committal service will be held 11:45 a.m. Saturday June 10 in Evergreen Cemetery, Aspen, Nova Scotia. Family flowers only please. Donations in memory of Eldon may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
