

We would with deepest sorrow make notice of the passing of Ferne Evangeline MacDonald into the presence of her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on June 25, 2014. Ferne was born in South Bar on January 18th, 1932. Ferne was a dedicated and loving wife to her Husband Kenneth MacDonald (Predeceased) and Loving Mother to Wade (Elaine & Kaitlyn). Shane (Predeceased) and Jyl (Blake). She was known as GaGa to her doting grandchildren and she was devoted to them. She has a sister Bernice Stefl (Tom) Boston; Carol Albert (Mark) Ontario; Shirley Morrison (John - Predec.) Cape Breton. She was predeceased by Parents Tom and Evangeline Young South Bar Cape Breton, Sister Eileen Boutilier (Vaughan both predeceased) Port Bickerton NS; Brother Wyman Young (Mora). She has many Nieces and nephews that loved her deeply. Ferne was known by her tremendous love of animals and cared deeply for her Pit-bull Sabrina. Ferne was a telephone operator in Cape Breton prior to marriage and later on in her life was a switchboard operator at the Halifax County Rehabilitation Centre. Ferne is marked by her tremendous and enduring Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. She was loved by a multitude of people for her honest and strong approach to life. She was beautiful inside and out to all who were blessed to have known her. She will be profoundly missed. She would in death proclaim by her life that her Saviour was her All in All and would encourage you to Seek Him while He may be Found – Isaiah 55:6 Visitation will be at A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland Street, Dartmouth from 2-4pm and 7-9pm Wednesday July 2nd, 2014. Graveside committal will be 11am Thursday July3rd, 2014 Dartmouth Memorial Gardens followed by Funeral Service 1pm. Mr. Matthew Cain Officiating at the Gospel Hall Corner Oxford & North Halifax.
