Frank McBride

McBride, Kenneth “Frank”- 73 of Dartmouth passed away peacefully at home at Bissett Court in Cole Harbour on April 1, 2011. He was a son of the late Frank and Hazel (MacIntosh) McBride. He was predeceased by his younger brother Douglas. Frank is survived by his daughter Deborah (David) Purdy, Dartmouth and son Michael of Martinez, California; granddaughters Kristin and Sarah and grandson Stephen. Frank is also survived by brothers Richard (Joyce), Hamilton; Ont.; John (Margarite), Dartmouth; and James (Diane), Eastern Passage. He had a special relationship with his niece Joanne of Vancouver, with whom he enjoyed travels and adventures. Frank worked for many years in the grocery business, first for Dominion Stores and then Atlantic Superstores until his retirement in 2003. He was a lifelong member of Christ Church in Dartmouth. He truly enjoyed his years of working with the food bank in the church hall. Frank was always a sports enthusiast, playing softball for many years as well as bowling and golf for most of his life. He coached little league baseball for a number of years. Arrangements entrusted to A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home , 217 Portland St. , Dartmouth Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 5 at 2 p.m. at Christ Church, Dundas St., Dartmouth, Rev. Jane Clattenburg officiating.
