Weldon, George A., 88 of Dartmouth passed away March 21, 2011 at the VMB Halifax. Born in Dartmouth he was the son of the late Arthur and Annie Catherine (Sterns) Weldon. George attended school in Dartmouth and Halifax. He joined the airforce in 1942 getting his wings at Uplands, Ottawa. He flew with the RCAF, then the RAF where he was awarded the DFC. After WW11, he went to Dalhousie for one year then the University of Toronto for 4 years receiving his BSC in Engineering, and then went to the Univeristy of Buffalo for his MBA degree.
George is survived by his wife of 60 years, Frances (White); 1 son Michael (Carol), Mississauga; Brother Richard (Joan) Weldon, Dartmouth; Sister Cathering Harrison, Dartmouth; 2 grandchildren Jacqueline and Christopher; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive family and friends at A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home on Friday, March 25 from 2pm to 4pm. No flowers by request. Donations may be made to the NS Alzheimers Society. A special thanks to the staff of VMB, 6 East, for their wonderful care.
