Georgina Hazel O'Brien

O'BRIEN, Georgina Hazel (Warner) 1915-2017 - It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother Georgina on Sunday, September 3, 2017, at the age of 102. Georgina was the daughter of John William and Stella Mae Warner of Goldboro, Guys. Co., N.S. She was predeceased by her husband Martin, her brothers Edward and John Warner and sisters Mildred MacDougall, Muriel Murphy, Marjorie Giffin and Dorothy Rigden. Georgina graduated with a degree in Dietetics from Mount A. and a nursing degree from Saint Martha's Hospital Antigonish in 1937. She did private nursing care for many years and volunteered at Northwood Manor Halifax for 20 years. Georgina will be sadly missed by daughters Audrey (Jim) Nodwell, and Patricia Cormier, granddaughters Colleen Tapp (Jim), Michelle Ryder (Randy Rehberg), grandson Paul Nodwell and great grandsons Brett and Jesse Gill. The family wish to thank Mona Salter and John Giffin for their unconditional support and the Doctors, Nurses and Care Workers on the 5th. floor of Saint Vincent's Nursing Home, Halifax. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place at 11am Friday September 8, 2017 in Christ Church, Dartmouth.
