Helen M. L. McBride

Born in Dartmouth on January 4, 1922 to the late Thomas & Euphemia (Barry) McBride passed away peacefully in Oakwood Terrace Dartmouth on Monday, October 21, 2015. Helen lived all her life in Dartmouth and worked at the Dartmouth Marine Slips as a Purchasing Agent, retiring in 1987 after 44 years of service. She was a member of Christ Church, sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and also a member of the A.C.W. Helen was presented a medal of faithful service from Christ Church, was also a member of Oakwood Auxiliary, Trefoil Guild and the Furtura Club. Helen is survived by her sister Lillian Varbeff, niece Mary Daigle & Family, nephews William (Billy) Varbeff & family, Harold Varbeff & family, John McBride & Family and Richard McBride & family. She was predeceased by brothers Frank, John and Harold McBride, nephews Donald Varbeff, Frank Jr., Douglas and Jim McBride. A special thanks to all staff at Oakwood Terrace for their devoted care over the last 4 years. Donations may be made to Christ Church or Oakwood Terrace. Visitation will take place at A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home on Sunday, October 25 from 2-4pm. Funeral Service will take place on Monday at 11 am at Christ Church, 61 Dundas St., Dartmouth.
