

Over the last few years, Jamie's life was impacted by his diabetes, heart and Kidney disease. He was a son of the late R. Allen and Elizabeth (Jones) Benjamin.
Survived by brothers, Rod (Judy), Pugwash, NS and Scott, Fletchers Lake, NS; nephew, Michael Benjamin and his son Oliver, Airdrie, AB; nieces, Jacqueline Benjamin and her son Chase Amson, Edmonton, AB and Susan Benjamin and her son Nygel, Pugwash, NS; aunt, Audrey Hemming; his cousin, Bruce Hemming whom had a very close relationship with Jamie; as well as many cousins and extended family and friends. Predeceased by sister, Wanda Benjamin.
Jamie recently retired from the maintenance department at Dalhousie University, during his career he also worked at the Nova Scotia Research Foundation, Dartmouth Cable, Mic Mac Mall, Wyndholme Christian Church and Canada Post. Jamie was a very generous and thoughtful person. He enjoyed collecting things like coins and music recordings. He loved to listen to oldies music.
Heartfelt thanks are extended to the Pharmacists and staff at Braemar Superstore for befriending Jamie over the years and helping with his care and needs. A special thank you to Jamie’s family doctor, Dr. Nag Sannidhanam for his constant care along with the doctors and staff at both the Dartmouth General Hospital and Twin Oaks Memorial Hospital for their compassion during his final months. Due to COVID-19 restrictions seating is limited registration is required.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, July 27, at 2pm in Wyndholme Christian Church. Donations may be made to the Diabetes Foundation, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Kidney Foundation, Wyndholme Christian Church (suite 103 - 530 Portland St, Dartmouth, NS 902-466-5144) or a charity of choice.
