Jessie Margaret Shaw

Jessie was a member of the Finlay Senior’s group, the O’Connolly Newfoundland Club as well as Somme Branch 31 of the Royal Canadian Legion. In her younger years she was an avid bowler. Jessie loved to play crib, never missing an opportunity for a game. She also loved to spend time with her family.

She is survived by her sons, Stanley, of Dartmouth, Carl (Pat), of Truro; sister, Annie Tortola, of Dartmouth; grandchildren, Robert, Sharon, Christine, Linda, Jamie, Phillip, Carla, Julia and William; 11 great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Captain Stanley S. Shaw; step-father, Charles Shaw; brothers, Samuel, John (Jake), Charles, Clifton (Kippie); sisters, Bessie, Cecilia and Carrie; as well as three siblings in infancy.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 30 from 4-7pm; funeral service will be 1pm Thursday January 31 both from A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland Street, Dartmouth. Interment to follow in Mount Hermon Cemetery.
