AVIS DE DÉCÈS

Leo "Jack" John Joseph Duffy

Avis de décès de Leo "Jack" John Joseph Duffy
AUX SOINS DE

A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home

I died on this day of December 9th 2021 at home in Dartmouth, NS. My life has been a story of good fortune and great blessings from the time of my birth in Charlottetown, PEI to my loving parents, Leo and Mabel (Doyle) Duffy who blessed me with five sisters of whom I am very proud and grateful as the ambition each of them seemed to be to make my life as happy and as comfortable as possible: Frances Baker (Ray- Deceased) Antigonish, Marcy Murnaghan (Lolie- both deceased), Leah Duffy of Antigonish, Catherine “Kitty” Doyle (Donnie) Campbellton PEI, Gerry Martin (Pius- Deceased) Brantford, ON. At that point in my life, I thought that I had reached the best that life had to offer and then I met and married my best friend and lifetime partner, Sylvia Munroe, and together we created three beautiful daughters; Shannon Gavin (Mark) Bedford NS, Raquel Duffy (Brian Hamman) Toronto ON, Tara (Mike Goble) Dartmouth NS, and life continued with even more joy with the arrival of our grandchildren, Blake, Jack, Finnegan, Matthew, Ruari and Mackenzie. All of this great and good fortune caused me to reflect on my life and to question “Why me?” That reflection caused me to think of the host of friends that I grew up with in our Euston Street neighbourhood in Charlottetown, and likewise to remember the good friends that I socialized and worked with at Commercial Cable in Hazel Hill and Canso, and likewise with Petrofina/PetroCanada in ‘The Valley’, Moncton, Saint John, Sydney, Montreal, St John’s, and Halifax. I depart this life with no tears but with pleasant memories of good times, laughter, joy, peace, and contentment.

In lieu of flowers, I prefer donation be made to the society of St. Vincent De Paul or the Alzheimer’s Society.

In the true spirit of our father, he scribed his own obituary. It speaks loudly to the person he was- one who never wanted to inconvenience anyone. Dad’s wishes were to be cremated followed by a memorial mass and interment at a later date.

We love you more Dad (stamped it) & we miss you greatly! Xo
