

LeVERNOIS, Leon (Monty) DeMontigny, RCN (Retired) - Age 76, died peacefully in his sleep, on December 4, 2016, in the Admiral Long Term Care Facility, Dartmouth, N.S. Born in Ottawa, Carleton County. He was the son of Leon DeMontigny (Snr) and Gracie Elizabeth (Casselman) LeVernois. Monty retired from the RCN after 28 years of dedicated service as a Chief Petty Officer 2nd Class Marine Engineer where he proceeded to the St John Ship Building Frigate Program as a Logistics Officer. He was happiest when RVing with his wife Avis, travelling throughout Canada and the United States following stock car racing. Besides his parents, Monty is predeceased by his older sister Penny Pavigliante. He is survived by his loving and caring wife Avis Jean (nee Clark) of 55 years of marriage, devoted sons, Todd (Linda), Falmouth, N.S., Robert (Krystal), Stewiacke, N.S., Troy (Nicole), Tallinn, Estonia, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren and three Nephews. The memorial service will be held on the December 10, 2016 at 3:00 pm in A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland St, Dartmouth, N.S. with reception to follow.
