

BAISLEY, Leonard Livingstone — 84, Dartmouth and Bayhead, passed away in Dartmouth General Hospital on May 17, 2010, due to Mesothelioma. Born in North Esk Parish, N.B., he was a son of the late Alfred and Mary (Mullin) Baisley. After his service in the Merchant Navy, Leonard went on to work for Booth Fisheries (Richmond Fisheries) in Petit de Grat. Following that, his career led him to Prince Edward Island where he was Chairman of the Fisherman's Loan Board, then General Manager of the Georgetown Shipyard. He ended his career at the age of 68 as Fleet Manager with Usen Fisheries in Souris, P.E.I. Surviving are his wife, Michelena (MacNeil); daughters, Mary Margaret and Lynn (Gordon) Dickie; granddaughters, Caroline Dickie and Colleen Dickie; sister, Ruby Manship, Moncton; sister-in-law, Margaret MacNeil, New York City. Besides his parents, Leonard was predeceased by sister, Rena; brothers, Alfred Jr., Willis, Emery, Lorne and Mark. Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 20 from 6-8 p.m. in Mattatalls Funeral Home, Dartmouth. Funeral Mass will be held in St. Peter's Church, Dartmouth on Friday, May 21 at 10 a.m. Private family burial to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Family flowers only.
