It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lillian McCormack, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, on September 9, 2023 in the Victoria General Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late William and Jean (Drover) Baggs. She is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, Bill; daughter Carla (Cory); son Billy; grandchildren Brendan, and Aaron; sisters Marilyn (Ardie), Marion (Jerry), Irene (John); brother Allister (Linda) as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters Ella, Vera, Ruby, Chris, and Jean; brothers William, Harold, and Melvin.
Lillian worked together with her husband Bill at the family-owned beauty shop, Antoine Hairstylist. They met at the shop when Lillian took a job there in 1973 and it was love at first sight. They were married only a few months later. They raised their 2 children, Carla and Billy, in their home above the shop. Family was the most important thing in Lillian’s life. She cherished spending time with her grandsons. She was also an avid thrifter and could often be seen on any given evening at the Value Village hunting for treasures. Anyone who met Lillian admired her for kindness, strength, and generosity.
A special thank you to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the VG Hospital as well as Drs. MacDonald and Bloom. A special thank you to her niece Irene for all her love and support.
Cremation has taken place. A private interment will follow at Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made in Lillian’s name to the IWK or the QEII Foundations.
