Linda Faye Pronovost

Pronovost (Hines), Linda Faye of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, passed away peacefully at home on May 14, 2025 surrounded by family. Our Mum was born on January 13, 1948 in Halifax, Nova Scotia to the late Stella and Kenneth Hines.

She was a devoted wife to our Dad, Claude, for over 58 years, a loving mother to daughters, Suzanne (Chris), Michelle (John) and Deanne, and a kind and generous Grammy to Mathieu, Marc, Hannah and Wil. Mum was a wonderful sister and best friend to Sandra (Ted) and Ken (Sharon) and sister-in-law to Raymonde (Jean-Guy) and an amazing aunt to her nieces, Erin (Patrick), Julie, Josee, and Veronique and their children, and to nephew, Daniel, as well as a friend to many cousins. She cherished her long-time close friends, Marilyn, Bonnie, Bev, Bill and Anne and John and Brenda. 

Mum worked at the Woodlawn Medical Clinic for over 21 years where she made many life long friends. She also had many close friends in Lower Economy where she and our Dad lived for over 20 years after their retirement and before returning to Dartmouth in 2020. 

Mum enjoyed travelling, playing cards, going to bingo, and spending time at the casino playing her favourite games. She will be missed for her great sense of humour and fun, for her good advice and for her genuine kindness, love and friendship. Mum will always be remembered for the strength and courage that she demonstrated during her illness.

Cremation will take place at A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home in Dartmouth. A private celebration of Mum’s life will be held in June.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mum’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
