

Newcombe, Lorne A. “Newkie” – 75 of LowerSackville/Dartmouth, passed away August 21, 2010 at home. Born in Halifax he was the son of the late John and Anna Della (Shubley) Newcombe. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed playing guitar and woodworking. He was a life member of the Mic Mac AAC, a past social member of the Buffalo Club Wentworth Street and the Royal Canadian Legion Somme Branch 133. He worked for the Old Mill Tavern for over 40 years. He is survived by sons Brian Rudolph (Nancy Ritcey) Moncton; Wesley Rudolph, Eastern Passage; Kirk Rudolph Lower Sackville; daughter Pamela Rudolph (Michael Finlayson) a sister Violet, of Michigan; grandchildren Erica and Kyle Rudolph, Allison and Drew Ritcey, a special nephew Billy (Peggy) Newcombe along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by he loving wife Carolyn Elizabeth; brothers Clarence, Harold, Johnny, Robert, Aubrey, William, Wilson; sisters Winnifred and Anna Della. Visitation will be 7-9 PM Thursday August 26, in A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home 217 Portland Street. Memorial Service will be held 11 AM Friday August 27, in St. James United Church 181 Portland Street. Rev. Glenn MacLean officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Mount Hermon Cemetery.
