Condolences to David, Shirley and the rest of Marc's family and friends.  I always enjoyed working alongside Marc. He was a dedicated worker and always had helpful insights as to how to make things work better. 
A memory I'll always have of Marc is at the end of particularly busy seasons we would all share a dinner together and Marc, despite being a smaller guy would order the biggest plate. Often lobster, steak,  and all of the other accompaniments. Enjoyable to watch him smile and handle such a large plate of food.

It is hard to know what to say at times like this. My thoughts and prayers go out to Mark's family and many friends. I  cherish the  happy memories of laughter and teamwork  at McDonald's on Main Street.

I am so heartbroken to hear about the passing of Marc. Marc and I grew up together. We both went to Penhorn, Ellenvale and Prince Andrew Hugh School.  And lived just a few couple streets away from each other in Woodlawn. We did drift apart but reconnected over the last few years over Face Book. And I'm so glad we did! I will cherish all the talks we had. I will miss him greatly. My heart goes out to his Dad Dave and his older brother Shawn. know you are both in my heart during this difficult time.

Didn't know what to think of this guy when i met him on my first day at work on the Gulf spray in the Halifax harbour.  He was hard worker, quick with a joke and made me feel welcomed right away. We worked long hours but with Marc around, it was never boring and filled with the kind of laughters that lasted long after the day end.

I miss those good times. Rest easy friend.

Marc West.  My boy.  One of my original besties since grade seven.  I moved to Woodlawn to start grade seven at Ellenvale knowing next to no one unless I played ball or hockey with them.  Marc was one of the first people I met and for some reason we hit it off immediately.   It was nice to find a friend when you moved into a new environment.  The shit we got into as kids and the stories I could tell lol.  One of my ones I’ll never forget is he slept over at my house in Junior High one night.  My mom did not know he was an insulin dependent diabetic.  We went out and my mom went down to my room and seen needles on my dresser.  We got back from having a night at Bell Lake endulging in 2L bottles of Rockeberry and Kiwi coolers and my mom lost it.  Didn’t know we were out being bad but thought we were in the basement shooting drugs with the needles lol.  Over the years we moved on and did different things but we always kept in contact. Even to this day we would meet up once a year or to have an adult beverage and shoot a game of pool.  Everytime is like we never missed a beat.  A year or two apart and when we got together it was like we just did the same the day before.   It’s taken me a few days to come to terms with with you leaving us.  I’m gonna miss you brother 🙏🏻.  Until we meet again.

I have a lot of memories of Marc.  We worked together at McDonald's, hung out at parties and chatted into the night about feelings and insecurities as young adults.  I remember him being obsessed with Batman and remember a time where we went out to the CAT sign in Burnside where we got out and chatted there.  He always wanted to turn the 'C' into a 'B' to make it a "bat" signal.
I will miss him.

Oh my God, I am in shock!! I met Marc when I went to interview him for adopting Mindi. My heart is broken right now. He was the nicest man and he loved that dog so much.  I was away in Ontario and I didn’t know this happened until today.  I am so sad for this. My heart is broken.  I hope someone is loving Mindy right now because that dog was his pride and joy, and he thanked me every time for saving his life by making sure he got to adopt Mindi. I don’t know what else to say. My heart is broken.

RIP dear Marc…
Marc and I met through work but quickly became friends.  He came through for me many times.  One of my favourite memories will be getting tattoos at his house. I will forever look at these tattoos and remember Marc.  Sending love to his family 💔

I met Marc in middle school, and even then, I remember him as a kind and respectful guy with a great sense of humour and wit. We lost touch for a few years but reconnected in my last year at PAHS.

I’ll always remember the cowboy boots with spurs and the black trench coat he absolutely loved—it suited him perfectly. And the white Civic—I’ll always remember him pulling up to school in it while he was practicing to get his drivers  license.

No matter what, Marc was always there for the people he cared about. He was one of the most loyal friends I had ever had. He definitely had my back and wasn’t afraid to show it.

I worked with Marc way back at McDonald's. He was really fun to work with, we really enjoyed playing in the softball tournament every year and one time went back to Marc's for a swim after. Im so sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry for your loss. I hung around a bit with Marc in my early teen years and I remember him as a gentle person with a sweet smile.

Marc was an absolute pleasure to work with. He did his job with pleasure and always got the job done no matter what it took. Marc loved a challenge and there wasn’t anything he couldn’t do.
I’ll miss his presence but I take solace to know he now rests in the hands of God.

Marc was not only one of the coolest kids I knew, he was one of the most loyal friends. And that never changed even if you hadn’t talked to him in many years. I’m saddened to hear of his passing, he was a unique and valued friend and he will be missed by a lot of folks. 🙏🏻

My heart goes out to his family and his friends. I’ve known Marc for over 30 years since PAHS. Many a beer, many a game of pool, many a half hearted attempt to sing Hotel California and most Metallica…. He never let me forget I was three days older than him…..every year.   

  Days rolling in the white civic hatch, whether it was to the beach, a house party, the movies, some food, or just to hang out, Marc was pretty constant in my life. Seeing him smiling whenever we were with the fellas is the memory that won’t fade. 

 Many a beer we drank somewhere we probably shouldn’t have, but we always made it back and always reminisced about those nights when we got together later on. 

   Marc was always quick with a joke, and always had your back. I remember being with him when he got his first cowboy boots at the Tack Shop in Halifax, and the coat.  Man he loved that coat. And well of course Batman.  

 Crusin Woodlawn to get coffee with the boyz,heading to Shediac, PEI, wherever was always a good time had.  I will treasure those memories even more now.  

 I moved away first, but always ran into him when we came home.  Most of the stories I have with Marc can’t be put in here; but I can honestly say he was one of the best people I knew.  

Raised right, kind and once you knew him he was a softie for those that were his friends.   He would do anything for his friends.  

Trip home this summer won’t be the same with out a good shootin the shit with Westie.  I know for sure  I’ll be with Bruce, Jay and the fellas for a rum and Diet Coke for Marc.   Gone too soon brother

I think about Donna a lot … hard to believe it have been almost 25 years.

To Marc’s Family and Friends, my sincere condolences on this deep loss.  I went to Diabetic Camp with Marc; started when I was 12 and into our teens.  He was so cool, loved Batman and had this mischievous side to him.

I connected with him later in life when we both lived in Edmonton.  I knew he was struggling with his diabetes and we often would check in with each other.  A few Facebook messages over the years keeping in touch.  He was always there to give advice after getting his pump and life updates.  

He was sensitive, sarcastic in the most funny way and a good friend.  I wish him peace .
