
Age 92, of Dartmouth, passed away on July 11, 2019 in the Admiral Long
Term Care Centre. Marjorie was born in Halifax, a daughter of Walter and
Margaret (Kelly) McGinnis. After her marriage to Albert Scott in 1949 she
devoted her life to her family and home. Her favourite pastime was
gardening. She also enjoyed crocheting, sewing, playing the piano, and
swimming. She loved her summer cottage life at various locations around
Nova Scotia. Marjorie was actively involved in the St. Vincent de Paul
Society for many years. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her
husband of 67 years, Albert, and her siblings Helen, Hank, William, Walter,
and Gerald. Marjorie is survived by her sister-in-law, Gwen Vallieres; sons,
Alan (Karen Osborne), Stephen (Christine), Philip (Kathleen), Robert
(Janice); daughters, Michelle (Gus) Cochrane, Carol (Greg) Burk, Ann-
Marie (Leon) LeBlanc, Nancy Lin Scott; grandchildren, Melanie and
Geoffrey Cochrane; Amanda, Nicholas, Conor, Benjamin and Emily Scott;
Alec and Ron Scott; Alex and Jillian Burk; Michael and Adam Scott;
Dominic and Thomas LeBlanc; great-grandchildren, Zachary and Grace
Cochrane; Aidan and Catherine Legge; many nieces and nephews.
Donations may be made to The Alzheimer’s Society or a charity of one's
choice. Father Gerald David will officiate the funeral mass at St. Clement’s
Catholic Church, Gaston Road, Dartmouth, on August 17, 2019 at 10am
with a reception after in the church hall. Internment will follow at Mt. Olivet
Cemetery, Mumford Road, Halifax. Online condolences may be viewed or
