Mary Catherine Crawley

CRAWLEY, Mary Catherine (MACINTYRE) - Age 80 years, 7 months, of Dartmouth. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, at the Dartmouth General Hospital on December 3, 2021. Born in Halifax, N.S on April 20,1941, she was the daughter of the late Mary (Pettipas), & Charles MacIntyre. Growing up mom spent a lot of her young years in East Chezzetcook, with her grandmother Adelaide Pettipas. When back in Halifax, she played the mother role to her brothers and sisters from a young age until her passing. Mom was always surrounded by children. In her early years she worked mostly in retail for Dominion Stores, KFC, while being a full-time mother and housewife. She enjoyed her Nascar races, knitting, and spending time at the cottage in PEI. She is survived by four daughters, Marilyn (Thomas) Hounsell, Cow Bay; Dolores, Catherine, and Cindy Crawley, all of Dartmouth, N.S. Five grandchildren James Hounsell (Billie-Jean), Amanda Graham (Kevin), Christopher, Christina, Catherine Anne Rice and Mary Elizabeth Crawley. Four great grandchildren; Aidan, Ethan, Wyatt MacDonald, and Marissa Williams. Four brothers Leon (Caroline), Cole Harbour, Franklyn (Mary), Tea Hill, PEI, David (Michelle), Victoria, B.C., Gregory (Peggy), Hammonds Plains, Donnie (June) MacIntyre, Stratford, PEI. Three sisters; Dolores (John) Kimak, Victoria, B.C., Marilyn (Eugene) Himmelman, French Village, PEI, Theresa (Wils) Mosher, Savage Harbour, PEI. Predeceased by her husband James H. Shepherd-Crawley, on July 27, 2006. Special thank you goes out to VON Nurses, Allison, Erin, and Jenna, from Bayshore Home Health Care, who helped care for mom in her final years. Cremation has taken place, Interment and celebration of mom’s life will take place in the spring 2022, in East Chezzetcook.
