Maureen Patricia Bernice McBride

It is with great sadness that the family of Maureen Patricia Bernice McBride age 75, of Dartmouth, announce her sudden passing on Monday, December 16, 2013. Born in Halifax on December 18, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Duncan and Annie Hines. Maureen is survived by her husband, William “Bill” McBride, a son David (Sherry), and daughter, Katherine “Kathy”. She was a very proud and loving grandmother to Jeffrey, Andrew, and Allison McBride and great-grandmother to Kalie and Rebecca McBride, all of Dartmouth. Also survived by sisters, Ethel May (Norman) Wood, Wellington, NS; Donna (Henry) Gallon, Kamloops, BC; Carol Ann (Dwight) Miller, ON; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by twin sons, Thomas and Timothy, and sister, Elaine MacLeod. A very warm-hearted person she was giving and understanding. She enjoyed family gatherings, singing, gardening, travelling abroad and was always happiest reading a good book. Cremation has taken place under the direction of A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland Street, Dartmouth, NS. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home chapel on Monday, December 23 at 1:00 pm. Reception to follow. A private interment service will be held at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Donations in Maureen`s memory may be made to a charity of one`s choice.
