It is with great sadness that the family of Maurice Sinclair Eddy of Dartmouth, announces his passing on December 2, 2020 at the age of 88. Maurice was born September 18, 1932 to Lester and Evelyn (Kilgar) Eddy (of Eastern Passage). He is survived by much-loved sons, David (Linda) and Ricky (Christa); cherished grandchildren, Craig (Sarah), Shawn (Madelyn), Melissa (Jeff); beloved great-grandchildren, Cohen, Cole, and Emma. He is survived by his brother, Lloyd (Edna); sisters, Eva Naugle, Marilyn (Ivan) Sheppard; sisters-in-law, Lorraine and Shirley, and brother-in-law, Ronnie (Judy); as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews, who he always loved to tease. He was predeceased by his loving wife Marie of 60 years; brothers, Everett and Clyde, and sisters, Alma and Marion. In his youth, Maurice worked with his father and brothers bricklaying. He then went on to work for Fairey Aviation for 21 years, and then DND for 25 years as an armament fitter, until his retirement. Maurice spent many great times camping with Marie and family at Green Valley, Mill Cove and time at Caribou Lake. Maurice spent much time in the woods with David and Ricky hunting, where many tall tales were spun. After retirement he enjoyed occasionally lobster fishing with nephew Terry in Ship Harbour. His last years were spent visiting family in Eastern Passage, and many trips to see the Edwards "boys". "Best fishermen" in Eastern Passage we were told. Special thanks to niece Sharon Langille, for your many visits, constant bickering and help over the years. Celebrate Maurice's life in a way that will honor the great gentleman he was. If you keep his gift of storytelling alive, he will always be with you. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, family service has yet to be determined. Donations can be made to St. Peters Anglican Church (Eastern Passage), or a charity of your choice.
