Nancy Helen Davison

Wife of the late Ernest K. Davison, passed away in Halifax on February 20, 2016. Nancy was born in Dartmouth on July 13, 1931, and was the eldest child of the late Albert and Kathleen (Ardley) Nichols. Following graduation from Dartmouth High School she began her long working career and while employed with Nova Scotia Trust Company she met Ernie. They were married in 1955 and spent 56 years together until his passing in 2011. A member of Grace United Church, Nancy was a life member of the United Church Women and past President of the Auxiliary of Oakwood Terrace Nursing Home. In her retirement she continued her volunteer work and enjoyed some travelling. Nancy is survived by her children, Gregory (Nichola McKay) of Montrose, B.C., Stephen (Darlene Almon) of Dartmouth and Kathryn (Bob Boyce) of Saint John, N.B, grandchildren Alec Davison and James Davison. She will also be missed by her brother, E.J. “Ted” Nichols and sister, Linda Purdy. Visitation will be on Monday, February 29 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland Street, Dartmouth with memorial service on Tuesday, March 1 at 2:00 p.m. at Grace United Church, 70 King Street, Dartmouth.
