Nancy’s lifelong passion was teaching and felt very fortunate to be able to teach for over 45 years. She often said she knew in grade 2 that she wanted to be a teacher. She never looked back. She always kept in touch with former students, even from her early days of teaching at the School for the Blind in Halifax in the 1940’s. After retirement, she enjoyed volunteering her time tutoring international students in her home to improve their English proficiency.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was able to live close to her family for the past 35 years. Over the years, Nancy was very active in the Anglican church and forged many friendships there. For those who knew her, the consensus was that she was very determined. Any obstacles she faced were a mere inconvenience.
Nancy was predeceased by her husband Jason and is survived by sons Richard (Kristi), Clary (Debbie), grandchildren, Lauren (Cameron Laing); Matthew (Michele Moore); Jack and great-grandchildren Carter; Dean and Hughie, all of Dartmouth.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
Donations may be made to a charity of choice.
