

MURDOCK, (Vaughan), Pauline J. - Age 96 of Dartmouth, peacefully passed away on 3 March 2022. Beloved wife of the late J. David Murdock (2013). Loving mother of Susan, Ottawa, and Catherine Waiand (Marvin), proud grandmother of Andrew (Olga) and Christine (Richard), and great grandmother of Michael, Anna, Harrison and Bennett, all of Calgary. Beloved aunt of many loving nieces, nephews and their children. Also survived by sisters-in-law Helena and Lauren Vaughan. Born in Windsor, Pauline was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Daughter of James and Olive (Kilcup) Vaughan; she was predeceased by her siblings Shirley Bowness, Irma Rogers, Avery, Harold, Garth and Ivan Vaughan. Pauline saw many changes in the world during her 96 years. She graduated from the Windsor Academy and KCS Commercial School. Her career began late in the war as a stenographer at No. 1 Army Transit Camp in Windsor, from there she was employed at the Vocational School and Panuke Motor, Windsor and Union Commercial School in Charlottetown. She was Branch Secretary at Royal Life Insurance Ltd., Halifax until her retirement. Always fashionable, Pauline was a bright spirit with a sunny nature. A long time Dartmouth resident, she and David enjoyed traveling and summers in Oakland and Mahone Bay where she pursued her interest in painting, writing, photography and sailing. She enjoyed meeting people throughout her life. She was a prolific letter writer and kept in touch with far flung family and friends for many years. She will be remembered for her joie de vivre, thoughtfulness and caring for others. Pauline was a charter member of the Dartmouth Kinette club, a past member of the Dartmouth Curling Club and the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron, member of Grace United Church and the Elisabeth UCW, and Brightwood Golf & Country Club. A funeral service will be held in the Spring at Grace United Church, Dartmouth followed by interment in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor. Details will follow at a later date.
