Age 87, of Dartmouth, Alex passed peacefully at his home while sleeping on June 13, 2021. Alex had many passions and talents; former president of Square and Round Dance Federation of Nova Scotia, member of Dance Nova Scotia, and leader of RAG Rounds. Member of Scouts Canada for over 65 years, Gilwell Camp Chief, recipient of several awards and medals and active member of the B-P Guild. Professional Engineer, Professor of Engineering at TUNS (Dal Tech). Predeceased by wife, Gaylan May (Rutledge) and son, David. Alex is survived by his 2nd wife, Kathleen (McDerby ); sons, Robert, Dartmouth, Jonathan (Dina), Beaver Bank, Duncan (Robyn), Greely, ON; grandchildren, Justin, Jennifer, Jessica; stepchildren, Marcia Fuglewicz, Windsor, ON, Ron (Julie) Osborne, St. Thomas, ON, Doug (Joanne) Osborne, Parry Sound, ON, Jan (Brad) Wilson, Hammonds Plains, NS, Stacey (Terry) Howie, Tecumseh, ON; special friend, Geneva Dean. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
